About the Location
We offer for summer and fall rental several cottages on the shore of Lake Champlain.   The cottages are located on the Missisquoi Bay in West Swanton, Vermont, about 1 mile east of the West Swanton- Alburg bridge.
Your summer retreat can be easily reached from many metropolitan areas in the Northeastern U.S. or Southern Quebec- just an hour from Montreal, 4 hours from Boston, or 6 hours from New York City.

 About the Cottages
The Maples and The Pines have approximately 1100 square feet of living space.  Both feature two bedrooms with double beds, an enclosed  lakeside porch, an enclosed back porch, and a large combination kitchen, dining, and living area.  "The Maples" has one full bath with an additional half bath off the master bedroom.  "The Pines" has a 3/4 bath. "The Maples" sleeps up to 10 people, while "The Pines" can sleep a maximum of 8.

Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen including all common small appliances such as coffee maker, can opener, toaster, etc. .  "The Maples" includes a microwave oven, washer/dryer,  wireless broadband access, an outside gas grill, and a color television with satellite reception and DVD/VCR.  "The Pines" includes a microwave oven, dishwasher,  gas grill, color TV, satellite, VCR/DVD, washing machine, and dryer.  "The Cedars" has a microwave, outside gas grill, color TV, satellite, and VCR/DVD.  Blankets and pillows are provided.   You supply towels and linens.

 About the Grounds
Each of the cottages has 60 feet of lake frontage.  The depth of the lot is about 200 feet.  The cottages are side-by-side and are three of eight on a private access road.  Each cottage rental includes access to 14 foot aluminum rowboats and peddle boats  (2 rowboats and 2 peddle boats shared by the 3 cottages).  The row boats are registered for use with your motor. There are 2 boat hoists available, with the larger hoist having a capacity of 3600 lbs. A public boat access to the lake is located about 1 mile away. Small sailboats can negotiate the bay, but the shallow waters of the bay make it unsuitable for larger sailboats, and access to the broad lake is limited by the clearance of the Swanton-Alburg bridge.
A 56 ft. common dock is located between and shared by the "The Maples" and "the Pines". "The Cedars" has a smaller dock..  The beach is a mixture of sand and shale.  The water depth increases slowly (about a 1 ft. increase in depth for every 10 feet from shore) making it ideal for children.

Attention fisherman!   The  Missiquoi Bay features some of the best bass fishing in Lake Champlain and  northern pike in excess of 10 lbs have been caught here.  The fishing is best during the month of June while the water is still cool, but the fishing is exceptional all year long.

About the Area

Montreal can be reached in about an hour.  Golfing is available in Alburg (less than 10 minutes away) and St. Albans (about 20 minutes).  There are numerous marinas in the area.  Supplies and dining are available in the towns of  Swanton (10 minutes), Alburg (10 minutes),  St. Albans (20 minutes), and Rouses Point, NY (15 minutes).  Burlington, Vermont is to the south about 45 minutes.
